Ed's bio

Ed Traversari has more than 37 years of live entertainment expertise.  He started out working for Pittsburgh based concert promoters DiCesare Engler Productions in 1975 as a production manager, talent booker, marketing director and General Manager of Chevrolet Ampitheatre at Station Square. DiCesare Engler Productions produced concerts at the Stanley Theatre (which they later sold to the Cultural District to become The Benedum Center in 1984 at which time Ed became a partner), the Syria Mosque, AJ Palumbo Center, Mellon Arena, 3 Rives Stadium, Heinz Field, PNC Park, Chevrolet Amphitheatre and Starlake Amphitheatre (First Niagara Pavilion) among others. In 1999 DiCesare Engler Productions was purchased by SFX Entertainment, later sold to Clear Channel Entertainment and finally spun off to Live Nation, the largest producer of live entertainment events in the world.


Ed left Live Nation in 2007 to become an associate professor at Point Park University teaching entertainment management classes in their Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management department. In addition to teaching, Ed consults and produces events for a number of clients including Heinz Hall, Seven Springs Resort, The Pittsburgh Irish Festival, PBS Television and Carnegie Science Center.  He also produced two Joe Grushecky / Bruce Springsteen concerts at Soldiers and Sailors Hall in 2010 and 2011 as well as The “Bob Marley Celebration” at The Benedum Center in 2010.


Ed received his under graduate degree from Robert Morris University and his MBA from Point Park University. His hobbies include playing drums, guitar and bike riding.  Ed has served as a board member for the Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pa, Tickets for Kids and the WYEP Community Advisory Board. He resides in McCandless Township with his wife MaryPat. They have three adult children Taylor, Cory and Cydnee.

Established advertising budgets and marketing strategies, created
promotional campaigns, bought advertising, wrote and produced press releases. Was the voice of concerts on 50,000 watt  major classic rock Pittsburgh radio station WDVE for “special 5 pm concert announcements” for 25 years gaining considerable market awareness for each event. Responsible for coordinating and participating in all television appearances to promote concerts. Appeared weekly to review upcoming concert schedules. Responsible for overseeing all marketing and operations for annual Festivals at Chevrolet Amphitheatre including the Italian Festival (18 years), Pittsburgh Irish Festival (17 years), New Orleans River Fest, Caribbean Fest, and Rib Cook Off.
